Testy electric trains will take Zelenograders directly to Ramensky and Podolsk
The first stage in the implementation of the project “through” electric trains from some cities of the Moscow Region to others through Moscow without transplants is planned to be implemented in 2019. The project was called the Moscow Central Diameter. In the first half of the twenties, the MCD will reach Zelenograd – direct directions will connect our district with Ramensky and Podolsk.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov presented the President of Russia Vladimir Putin project “Moscow Central Diameter” as part of the Moscow Transport Node. The implementation of the project will allow by 12% to reduce the burden on the transport infrastructure of Moscow, and by new areas, according to preliminary calculations, about 300 million passengers per year will use. The train will move in various directions of railways in the intervals of the Moscow Central Ring.
“We came up with a scheme that would connect disparate pieces of these roads and tied through diameters,” said Sergey Sobyanin. – On the example of the Belarusian and Savelovsky destinations, you can see that, in fact, a new ground metro branch with a length of about 50 kilometers is created, which will transport 42 million people.
President Vladimir Putin supported the idea of building a new ground metro line, the newspaper Evening Moscow reports.
“We are ready to start, already starting next year, and implement it either at the end of 2018 or in mid -2019,” said Sergey Sobyanin.
At the first stage of the project, it is planned to unite Lobnya and Odintsovo through Dolgoprudny and Skolkovo. This will be a 50 km long route, which will unite the Belarusian and Savelovsky directions. It was called the Moscow Central Diameter-1 (MCD-1). The second route will stretch from Nakhabino to Podolsk-these are the Riga and Kursk directions (MCD-2). The total cost of creating these two routes is about 20 billion rubles.
A distinctive feature of the Moscow central diameter is that you do not have to lay new railway tracks – they will be created on the basis of existing ones. It will take 1-1.5 years to create the first two routes, and the rest will take about 5 years.
At the moment, it is planned to launch 5-7 new “through” diameters, but in the future their number can grow up to 15. Two of them supposedly will begin in Zelenograd. The MCD-3 route will pass from Kryukovo to Ramensky (Kazan direction), the railway ligament will be provided at the Leningradsky station.MCD-5 will shed from Zelenograd to Podolsk (Kursk direction)-electric trains will also pass through the center of Moscow, through the Leningrad and Kursk station.

The project will participate in the project – additional funds from the federal budget will not be required, the Vedomosti newspaper reports. The first two routes (Lobnya-Odontsovo and Nakhabino-Podolsk) will amount to approximately 30% of the program, which was outlined by the city and Russian Railways. These are the most effective and quickly implemented routes. To create other diameters, more serious investments and reconstruction of infrastructure will be required.
– Today, suburban railways present this picture: they reach the stations and stop here, in fact it is dead ends. Moreover, at the entrances to the station, it is very difficult to expand the infrastructure, as it is simply in the city. The ineffective use of this resource, the speed of movement and disunity of these highways. With the “Russian railways” we came up with a scheme that would combine disparate pieces of these roads and create through diameters, ”said Sergey Sobyanin Vladimir Putin.
The total cost of the project is about 40 billion rubles, the costs of the capital and railways will be divided equally.
