Knee over the abyss

The new disc of this singer quickly burst into the charts of the world. Lana Del Rey and her Chemtrails Over the Country Club were in the top 3 fastest-selling albums of the 21st century in their first week. At the same time, the release of the disc was postponed several times, and the reason for this was not the music at all, but the attacks of black activists from the Black Lives Matter movement.

Lana Del Rey has always done what she wanted, regardless of tastes, trends and fashion requirements. The daughter of a millionaire, hitchhiking, she gave money to repair houses to the Indians, although it is not customary to write about such actions in the United States. At the same time, she has repeatedly stated that she does not support feminists, although this is just in trend in her homeland.

But the singer-songwriter has not spoken out in support of artists who are about to start kneeling before concerts. Maybe that's why black activists pounced on her new album when it hadn't been released yet. It was accused that the cover contained a photograph showing more than ten smiling girls with only fair skin color. Yes, and dark-skinned musicians, they say, when recording the disc is clearly not enough. The artist had to zealously make excuses: to explain that the girlfriends of her youth are depicted on the cover of the future album. There are also relatives of the singer, who, of course, are also fair-skinned. “My best friends are rappers, and there were rappers among my boyfriends. So I have never been a racist,” Lana Del Rey had to prove on social networks.

And the reproaches against the musicians are also rather absurd. After all, Chemtrails Over the Country Club is an album in the tradition of country music, and its black artists do not play, usually preferring rap, soul or blues. And there are definitely no country stars among them. What should Lana do? To invite a guitarist from Sudan, where country music has never been popular, but to please the haters?! Artists of varying degrees of popularity now have to listen to similar judgments: from newcomers to Taylor Swift.

It turns out that BLM is now trying to influence their art, which, of course, is already dangerous for the freedom of creativity of various performers. Frankie Goes to Hollywood once also recruited musicians who would appeal to their target audience. But in the end, they could not perform new hits, and the group fell apart.

But as Sting sang in his famous hit History Will Teach Us Nothing (History teaches us nothing). I didn't want it to happen like this again.

The influence of BLM has reached classical music. As on March 27, the English newspaper The Telegraph reported, professors of the Musfaccord University Musfaccord now believe that a classic repertoire, including works by Beethoven and Mozart, is too focused on white European music from slavery. And from now on they intend to fight the White Hegemonia and reduce the clock to study the works created by European composers. And the freed time devote the music of Africa, Brazil and New Guinea.
