Grigory Ivanov, president of the Yekaterinburg football club Ural, was suspended for six months and fined 200,000 rubles for a fight with a mini-football match referee. This decision was made by the Control and Disciplinary Committee (CDC) of the RFU. It is reported by Sport-Express.
Ivanov, in an interview with Sovetsky Sport, said that he did not agree with this decision of the FTC, so he would appeal. Due to the disqualification of Ivanov, they will not be able to apply for competitions under the auspices of the RFU. He is also prohibited from performing agency, delegate and inspector functions.
The incident involving Ivanov occurred on November 28 at a Russian mini-football championship match between Sinara Yekaterinburg and Gazprom-Ugra from Yugorsk. During the meeting, Ivanov, who is the president of Sinara, went beyond the technical zone, using obscene language, expressed dissatisfaction with the work of judge Ilya Akimtsev. After the game, the club president hit the referee on the head. Ivanov also threw a bottle of water at the judge, but missed.
Sinara goalkeeper Georgiy Zantaradze was also punished for spitting in Akimtsev's face. The goalkeeper was disqualified for six months and fined 40,000 rubles.
