How much does it cost to become ski

“It is expensive” – this is the thought appears in the head when you think about skiing. But on a sunny winter day I would like to get out on the slope, disperse blood and fly at a huge speed down. How much this pleasure will cost and what you need to know if you want to learn how to ride, we asked an experienced coach and skiers with experience.

Vitaly Sergienko, 15 years was the senior coach of the Sverdlovsk region for skiing

About training

– If there are no professionals in your environment, it is imperative to contact the instructor. As a rule, on the mountain, all friends themselves want to ride and can throw you to their own devices. And the quality of their knowledge remains in question.

The cost of training depends on the price of the instructor for an hour and the number of lifts on the cable car. At each ski complex, the amount is different. Approximate cost of training: 1500–2500 rubles/h.

As a rule, after 5-6 training, a beginner can freely pass along the green highway (the most gentle slope). People with sports training are studying faster – those who were engaged in skiing or skates.

The choice of an instructor depends on your desire: someone is more comfortable to communicate with a man, someone with a woman, it is better that the instructor has a category C or a sports title-a master of sports or a candidate for master of sports.

About equipment

The equipment includes:

Ski with mounts

– For the first time it is better to take the inventory at the box office to understand whether you like skiing or not. If you decide that you like it, buy in the store so as not to get broken. You can buy from friends, if sure of the quality. A full set of used equipment will cost about 15-20 thousand rubles. New – more expensive.

– They are selected by height and weight. It is better to choose soft, which bend well in the center. For women, they should be 140–160 cm long, depending on height and weight. For men – from 160 to 180 cm.

Wide skis are designed for freeride – skiing on fresh snow outside the highway. Short beigfaths are used by instructors to teach to stand in the center of the skis (i.e. vertically, not lowering the fifth point down). Some take them due to compactness and lightness in carrying. Sports skis are needed by advanced users who know how to ride cows with cut turns, like skates.

Boots

– The boots are selected in size with a small margin. When buying, take into account their stiffness, it is better if it is average. Soft boots do not hold the ankle in a bend well, stiff – press on the periosteum and provoke the “kettle's rack” (when it is lowered down and the back is tilted forward).

Optimal stiffness indicators: for an adult weighing from 50 to 60 kg – 90–110 units, from 70 to 90 kg – 120–140 units.

Sticks, helmet, glasses

– Sticks are selected in height. Bend your elbow to get a right angle, and find out their length. Buy the helmet and glasses those that will like. The main thing is that they are conveniently fixed on the head.

clothing

– It is advisable to choose clothes to warm and waterproof.

About safety

– Sking on skiing is non -hazardous, if you do everything correctly: correctly pick up the inventory and ride with an instructor on a canopy slope where you can easily control the speed.

In the first time, in no case do not climb steep slopes. Choose green tracks for beginners. Remember that at high speed, a tree or rim road support turns into a concrete wall into which you can crash at a speed of 30-50 km/h. Follow the safety rules.

Evgenia Sergienkorides from 3 years

About how I got skiing

– Dad, being a ski coach, constantly took with him to the mountain and taught him to ride from 3 years old. So the beginning. All my life I feel skiing much more comfortable than on the board.

About equipment

– Now I rent skis and boots. I ride without sticks, here to whom it is more convenient. If a beginner, it is better to try with sticks. When you get on skiing, you need to have a special way to place the body, learn to endure the body weight from one leg to another and at the same time keep the balance. Sticks help learn to do this. It is also easier with them in turn. Well, there is something to rely on so as not to slide unplannedly.

I take skis with boots at the rental point on the slope. They cost 500 rubles for the whole day on weekdays and 500-600 in about 3-4 hours on a weekend. Since I don’t have a car, it’s convenient-you don’t need to carry everything with you and store it somewhere. But if you tried and decided that you will ride constantly, it’s cheaper to buy your equipment.

It is also worth saying that the helmet is a very necessary thing. As a broken skier, I ride without it, just in a hat. But it is better not to do this, especially the new one.

Tip for a beginner

– Try to ride away from children and inexperienced. They are immediately visible. There is a risk that something will go wrong: they will fall, you will run into them. If you rush at high speed, it is dangerous. Everyone who feels on the slope is uncertain, you need to pay attention.

About skating

– Recently, I ride on Uktus (Yekaterinburg), you can get to it by bus. It is convenient that you do not need to go, so you can often ride in the season.

I get out on weekends. If you ride at least a couple of hours, it turns out about 1,000 rubles (rent + lift). Usually I get 1500–2000 rubles (with food). It turns out a lot, so I am going now a couple of times a month. In principle, enough.

How to save

– have your own equipment. You can even buy at Avito. You will not be the most fashionable on the slope, but this does not affect the skating itself. It will also be possible to save if you ride on weekdays and take food with you (in ski complexes prices at the cafe level). You can also go on foot to the slope. But this is long, easier to pay 50-70 rubles.

Sergey Kulikov, preferred skis to snowboarding

About why I started to ride

-Since childhood, I dreamed of skiing or on the board, but I always thought that it was terribly expensive, that only some oligarchs ride in the mountains. I lived in Volgograd all my life, this is not there. When he arrived in the Urals, he got to the white mountain, this is under Nizhny Tagil. I arrived there, as I saw everything, I think, cool – I have to take it. Well, I tried it, I liked it. I ride the fifth year, I can’t get off.

About why skis, not snowboarding

– I only ski. At first I got on the board, took the instructor. He showed me, explained, they rolled with him by the handles. Then I seemed to go alone. It was hard to call it with skiing: I fell more. I fall and fall, it doesn’t go to any at all.

Then we somehow went with my mother. She says: “I also want to try. I lived all my life here and never rode. ” She wanted to ski, well, I, with her. The instructor took. I got skiing for the first time in my life. I didn’t even go to the running treads before. The instructor showed how to roll with a plow. That's it, I left. I do not fall and swing, somehow it went. So I began to ski.

About spending

– Everyone has different expenses. Depend on where you will go to ride. If on the Uktus (within the city), then the road can be not counted, because it is near. If you go to the same white (I am 250 km in one direction), you need to consider gasoline. That is, there is purely individual.

A day on a mountain on average 1000-1500 rubles comes out. It's just for the lifts. Equipment, if yours, is good. I have my own. I started to roll and bought everything at once: skiing, sticks, boots, a mask, a suit. I recently ordered a helmet, it is more funny in it. The first month took the equipment at the box office. I realized that it was terribly expensive, and decided – I need to buy your own.

About the purchase of equipment

– I took everything new. I was looking for an entry -level equipment, because there was no sense in buying another. Ski with sticks about 10,000 rubles came out. Shoes in stores are expensive, but I took from the collection of last year's season. They were at a discount. I took it almost for nothing – for 7,000 rubles. The helmet also found inexpensive, he went out about 3,000.

I chose the simplest mask, rubles for 500. There are hameleon masks that, depending on the lighting, change darkening. This, of course, is cool, but expensive. Not ready to give 7-8 thousand for a mask.

Ski costumes are also different. I have inexpensive, for 5,000 rubles. If you take a good one, it is about 30-40 thousand. Something like this.
