New voting system

This year the Eurovision Song Contest will take a new path – the voting rules have been completely overhauled to prevent political voting. The biggest change since 1975 is that vote collection will take place in two stages.

The jury from each country will first vote for this or that participant, and then the public. Both the jury and the audience will have the opportunity to award points from one to eight and from ten to twelve for each of the first 10 places.

1 12
2 10
3 8
4 7

8 3

10 1

The new method allows viewers to have a stronger influence on the voting results – the song that the viewers liked is guaranteed to receive 12 points, regardless of the jury's scores.

With twice the number of points awarded, there would be no chance that a country would finish the competition with zero points.

The new voting method allows viewers to have a stronger influence on the voting results – the song that the viewers like is guaranteed to receive 12 points, regardless of the jury's scores.

Another key innovation concerns the announcement of the final results. In recent years, the format for announcing country results has often resulted in contestants celebrating a victory even before the end of the vote.

This year, the results will be summed up for the first time and only announced at the end of the competition, so the level of excitement is expected to break all records.

It's no surprise that Russia has high odds, but the fact that Russian superstar Sergey Lazarev with You are the Only One has consistently led Pinnacle Sport in odds from the start (2,889 so far)* clearly indicates a positive reaction from Eurovision players to the Russian artist .

The clear winner at Pinnacle Sport was France with J'ai cherche. With the odds reduced from 13.00 to 5.12*, the market is clearly signaling that there is a second possible Eurovision winner.

At 13.60* at the time of writing, Frans' If I Were Sorry not only represents Sweden at Eurovision this year, but is the fourth most likely candidate to win the contest again.

Australia with a modern upbeat composition Sound of Silence (12.34) and Ukraine with a politically oriented song (15.91) are considered as the main competitors in betting on the winner.
