The City House of Culture Olimp was established in 1989 and was considered a structural subdivision of the Department of Culture, and on December 1, 2006, the Municipal Institution City House of Culture Olimp was formed.
The organization of meaningful leisure, the development of creative abilities, patriotic education, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle are the main activities of the GDK Olimp.
The activities of the House of Culture are full of a wide variety of cultural programs. City House of Culture Olimp – a small concert venue, where concerts, festivals, children's play programs and matinees are always held with warmth and comfort. In its work, the House of Culture tries to cover all age groups of the population.
In GDK Olimp public events are held: seminars and meetings of public activists, solemn meetings, amateur art shows. In GDK Olympus perform, coming on tour, professional theater groups.

Since October 2017, the beloved House of Culture has acquired another status – CINEMA. And now it hosts not only concerts and performances, but also screenings of new movies. Modern cinema equipment, a spacious auditorium with easy chairs, a cozy cafe in the foyer of the Palace of Culture – this is how you can now spend your leisure time with family or friends.
The events that take place on the square near the Olympus GDK are very popular. They always gather a lot of visitors, including both adults and children. Thousands of city residents gather here on such holidays as the Day of Russia, International Children's Day, National Flag Day, Victory Day, the citywide last bell for school graduates.

In the winter season, an ice town is built on the square and the main winter beauty, the New Year tree, is installed.
