Ball games from our childhood

PL_POT

As a child, this was one of my favorite games. Played it for hours. I have already started teaching this game to my daughters. For each word, you need to throw the ball up or hit it against the wall and before catching it, have time to make a movement in brackets.

Simple (hit the ball against the wall or throw it up and catch it with both hands).
Clap (…clap your hands…)
Criss-cross (…arms crossed to shoulders…)
On the side (…clap hands on the sides …)
Bricks (… we hit our knees with our hands …)
Kalachi (… we clench our fists …)
Sticks (… we straighten our palms …)
Checkmarks (… join the palms together in the form of a check mark …)
Girls (… showing a skirt …)
Boys (… squat …)

When the child can do these movements well, you can add:

Front, back (… clap your hands in front of you, then behind your back …)
Behind, in front (… clap your hands behind your back, then in front of you)

At least two people can play. As soon as the player knocks or does not catch the ball, the ball is passed to another player. The winner is the one who completely made all the pieces without dropping the ball..

IN THE GOAT

To play, you need a ball and a high wall, preferably a deaf one, without windows. The players line up. The ball is kicked so that it hits the wall, and then, on the rebound, the kicker must jump over it. The jumper runs to the end of the line, and the next player hits the ball. And so on.

Only one touch of the ball to the ground is allowed before the jump. A player who fails to jump over the ball scores a penalty letter from the word goat. First K, then O and so on until someone collects all the letters. The one who first collected all the penalty letters lost.

First you need to jump over the ball so as not to hook it (to do it for everyone in the line), then – so that the ball hits the ground twice, and jump over in the same way, then you throw the ball, turn around its axis and jump over the ball again.

Then one player throws, and jumps over the next in line, then you throw and jump, turning your back to the ball (the last and most difficult round).

Whoever is hooked, sits under the ball (near the wall), they don’t do anything with them, it’s just “scary” to sit there, and they call him a “goat”.

I KNOW FIVE NAMES…

This is also my favorite childhood game. The number of players is not limited. However, too much is not desirable: you will have to wait a long time for your turn.

Players take turns picking up the ball and hitting it on the ground. At each stroke, they say a word: “I know five names of boys: Vasya – one, Petya – two, Lesha – three, Vova – four, Dima – five”. Having finished this series of words, they proceed to the next one: “I know five names of girls (names of cities, rivers, lakes, brands of cars, animals, birds, flowers, etc.)”.

If a player makes a mistake or thinks too long or loses the ball, the turn passes to the next player. When the ball returns to that player, he continues from the spot where he made the mistake.

CHEREVICHKI-STOP

This game requires at least four players and a ball. One of the participants picks up the ball and stands in front of other players who stand in a circle around him. He throws the ball up and calls the name of one of the players. The one whose name was called catches the ball, and the rest scatter in different directions. You need to catch the ball as quickly as possible and immediately shout: Cherevichki-stop. Everyone must stop.

The driver with the ball chooses any player whom he will need to reach and touch him with the ball. Having chosen the “path”, the driver calculates and announces how many and what steps he will take to get to the player. The steps in each company may vary slightly, but in general adhere to the following characteristics:
• giant – the widest steps of the participant
• human – normal steps
• ant – the heel of one leg is placed strictly in front of the toe of the other
• duck – squatting steps
• frog – step in the form of a jump
• camel – first you need to spit, and then reach the spit

The driver chooses and says: “There are five giant steps to Glory, nine ant steps and one frog step.” The player performs all steps while holding the ball. Having reached the place, he must throw the ball at the player to whom he was going. If he hit him, he becomes the driver. If the player dodged the ball or caught it in his hands, the same player remains the driver. And everything starts over.

BOUNCER

One of the most beloved games of all times and peoples, but also the most traumatic. In it, the more players, the better.

Two players are selected, who stand opposite each other at a certain distance. Between them, all the other players stand in a line, facing the one who holds the ball in his hands. The task of the players is to knock out with the ball all the participants in the center, who scatter to the sides after each throw of the ball. Knock out until all players are knocked out. However, if at least one of the players standing in the center catches the ball strictly in his hands, if he did not hit the ground, then all those who left the game return to the circle.

POTATO

As in dodgeball, the more players, the more fun. All participants stand in a circle and throw the ball to each other, as in volleyball. If the player did not hit or held the ball in his hands, he squats in the center of the circle (becomes a potato). The rest continue to play until a winner is revealed.

However, any of the players can dig up the potato by hitting the player in the center of the circle with the ball. The player who was touched by the ball returns to the game. If, however, the one who wanted to knock out those sitting in the center with the ball missed, then he himself sits in the center of the circle.

The “potato” itself can also save itself by catching a flying ball.At the same time, all the players sitting in the center return to the game, and that player from the hands of which the ball was caught, takes their place.

DOG

As a rule, this game is designed for three players. Using a count, choose a dog-pike. Two throw a ball to each other, and the third (Dog-Dog), which stood in the center, should take the ball from them. As far as I remember, this game has always ended with resentment and quarrels.

Edible, not edible

With the help of a counting, the host is selected. The rest sit on a bench side by side. The host throws the ball to each participant in turn, calling the words. If the word “edible” (for example, chocolate, potatoes, nuts, raspberries, etc.), the player should catch the ball in his hands, if “inedible” (portrait, machine, basket, etc.), then the ball must be pushed away . The one who is mistaken changes places with the host. The game is simple and funny. Although there may also be disputes …

Each game is interesting in itself. Some make you think, actively move, develop dexterity. And all games are taught to be friends and concede. Let the fun of our children be kind and useful!
