Dallas became the last participant of the Stanley Cup this season.

TASS, 28 April. Dallas secured at least eighth place in the Western Conference standings in the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season and became the last player in the playoffs. This became known on Thursday after the team ended in a draw in regular time of the match against Arizona.

Dallas lost to Arizona in overtime with a score of 3:4 and earned one point at the end of the game. In total, the team has 96 points in 81 matches, it has become inaccessible to Vegas, which is ninth in the Western Conference. The NHL Playoffs feature the top three clubs in each division and the top two conference teams not in the top three in their division.

Colorado, Calgary, Minnesota, St. Louis, Edmonton, Los Angeles and Nashville also qualified from the Western Conference for the playoffs.

Florida, Carolina, Toronto, current Stanley Cup winners Tampa, New York Rangers, Boston, Pittsburgh and Washington advanced from the Eastern Conference to the playoffs.

According to the results of the current regular season, three semi-finalists of the last Stanley Cup draw – Vegas, New York Islanders and Montreal – did not reach the playoffs. This is the first such incident in NHL history.

The NHL regular season will end with Winnipeg vs. Seattle on May 1, and the playoffs will begin on May 2. At the moment, two pairs of the first round are known – Edmonton will meet with Los Angeles, St. Louis will play with Minnesota.
